Back To Square One

After trying very hard for a few days, I went right back to my old eating habits. When I started this blog, I had such high hopes for success. Getting out of debt was so “easy”, but losing weight is so “hard”. I really cannot understand why I struggle so much to lose weight. I plan, I prepare… and an hour later, I’m right back to my old ways. Will I give up? I’m not really sure, yet. It seems as if every time I think I’ve ‘turned the corner’… I’ve simply hit a wall. Seriously, after almost 9 months, I’m down… maybe… 3 or 4 pounds? And, I’m more confused than ever about “what’s good for me”. Low carb – vegetarian – fruit – low fat – count calories – don’t count calories – it doesn’t seem to matter “what” I do. It works for a week, I lose 4 or 5 pounds – and then, nothing. I just stop and stay… and then I drift back to all of my old habits… and put the weight back on. God, I am so sick of this…

A Great Weekend… Fast Food Stinks

My family and I were in Atlanta this weekend for my daughter’s gymnastics competition.  (She won all-around for her age and level!)  I did really well with my eating – I was ‘forced’ to eat fast food just once – and we had a great time.  I’ve found that I do best when I plan ‘several-meals-ahead’.  Over at No Credit Needed, I wrote a post about our preparations for the trip.

Over the past two weeks, I’ve only eaten fast food twice!  For me, this is major, major progress.  (Once at Wendy’s, Once at Subway)  I’ve started to cook more often and I’m eating much more fresh fruit.

On the downside, I’ve been without exercise for the past three days.  We’ve just been so busy, gone from the house.  But, it’s Monday and it’s time to get at it again!

(Almost) No Fast Food For A Week

I’ve got to admit it, I feel so much better after going a week without fast food.  (I did eat a burger from Wendy’s on Thursday… and I immediately regretted it.)  I’m proud of myself for resisting the temptation to eat junk, and I was rewarded by fewer mood swings, and an overall better attitude.  Instead of fast food, I cooked all week long.  We ate plenty of freshly prepared vegetables, baked bread, and lean chicken.  I still at too much food, but at least it was the “right kind” of food.
