Have you considered weight watchers? I've been doing it and it's been horribly slow going like 1 lb or less a week. But it's coming off slowly. I am a yo-yo dieter too. It's a constant battle. I don't think there is any other way for me other than being accountable to WW, going to a meeting, weighing in, etc.

I even made a friend in the meeting, who we made a deal to show up every week even if it's a horribly bad week and we've gained weight. We still go. A friend lost 50+ lbs doing WW and has kept it off for almost 6 months, it took a little over 1 year. She still goes to the meetings.

That's so true. I wrote about something like that yesterday.

I'm pulling for you! I hope that when you're hiking this week you will consider thinking about exercise and nutrition as a way of life.

Have you thought about how you are going to live once you've lost the 33 pounds?

Ah, your last sentence sums up one of the most frustrating vicious cycles in weight loss: eating...a lot and stress!
You're not alone in that department!
Have fun on your hike!
