Life's no fun without cookies. It's admirable what you have achieved but be mindful not to go to far the other way; everything in moderation is the best and easiest way to live life. Instead of giving things up completely, allow yourself one cookie once each week, on a given day (i.e., Sunday).

I eat a low GI diet six days a week and then have one 'anything goes' day on a Saturday - and it's literally anything goes. Cookies, ice cream, chips, French fries, donuts, Chinese food, McDonalds, whatever. This stops me getting bored and keeps things interesting. For my body, it's great, as it stops my metabolism slowing down - the day when my calories spike actually encourages weight loss as my metabolism doesn't know what to expect and so keeps busy.

Mentally, it keeps me fresher as I know it's only a few days of being strict before I can have whatever I like.

As I said, life is no fun with cookies. If you suck all the pleasure out of food, you're really in for a tough time down the road. :)

For salt go with almonds.... Salt was my one big issue...

They are tasty, healthy, and salty. In my program 5 almonds is one protein serving... I get 14 servings a day. But my program is pretty restrictive.
