Golden Rules

4 Golden Rules – Morning Of Day One

After watching ‘I Can Make You Thin With Paul McKenna’ last night, I started following the ‘4 Golden Rules’ this morning –

As a reminder, here are the four rules – with links to Paul’s website –

1. When You Are Hungry, Eat

I wasn’t hungry until 10AM.  So, I didn’t eat.  I have a feeling that I will BE hungry earlier, once I’ve been on the ‘rules’ for a few weeks.  But, late last night, I ate a bowl of ice cream, and I woke up ‘full’.  So, I waited until I started to feel hungry – and I had a big glass of water – fixed some food and sat down to eat.

2. Eat What You Want, Not What You Think You Should

This felt ‘funny’ – but I did it anyway.  I had some turkey bacon, a dill pickle, a banana, some sunflower seeds, and some banana peppers.  I like all of these foods.  So, that’s what I ate!

3. Eat Consciously And Enjoy Every Mouthful

I sat down at the table.  I used a knife and fork.  I chewed each bit 20 times.  I took the ‘extra’ time to pray and think about my day.  My wife called.  Our little baby girl is doing ‘just fine’ and she’ll be born in a few weeks!  As I was enjoying the food, I noticed something…

4. When You Think You Are Full, Stop Eating

In less than ten bites – I was full.  Not ‘busting-at-the-gut-I-can’t-breathe’ full, but, ‘hey-I’m-not-really-hungry-full’.  So, I quit eating.

I have no idea if these ‘Golden Rules’ will actually help me lose weight – but I DO know that I am full.  And, I’m NEVER full.

  1. the weird/sad/odd/difficult thing is that it really is THAT easy (and THAT hard) huh?

especially number three as life is so rushrushrush that I find I eat unconsciously (and perhaps live unconsciously? but thats a whole ‘nother topic)

  2. I’m finding the same, after only a few days of reading I was feeling full after eating and not eating nowhere as much as I previously ate. Now I just dont think about food if I am not hungry. Should have read the book a long time ago. Amazing stuff.
