A Not-So-Startling Startling Insight

I just finished writing a post for another website and I was about to fix some breakfast when, like a 98 miles per hour inside fastball, it hit me.  I can feel as good as I want to feel if I will eat right and exercise.

Pause.

Pause.

Yep, after 15 years of worrying about my weight and feeling lousy when I eat the wrong things, it finally – in a moment of absolute clarity – appeared before me.  I can be thinner and healthier if I simply eat the right things, stop polluting my body with junk, find the time to move a little, and control my portions.

Pause.

Pause.

Yes, I realize the you already know these things.  And, I already knew these things…

But, as I was standing there, contemplating blowing my “diet” for the 15,000th time – I realized that whatever I put into my stomach would ultimately determine how I felt during the day – and the choice was absolutely, 100% UP TO ME!!!

Drink my water, eat my fruit, watch the fats, do the cardio, stretch, breathe…

Folks, this could be it…

Can one moment, one second, one millisecond… reverse 15 years worth of bad decisions?  I might just think so…

NCN now tries to describe the moment of clarity:

Two sets of hands reach up… one set goes for the chocolate-covered cereal bar, a handful of cookies, a jar of peanut butter, and a knife… the other set reach for an apple, some high-fiber oatmeal, and a glass of water…

The scene shifts… thirty minutes after the meal… one guy, the cereal bar guy… sits, bloated, frustrated, and tired… it’s 7:00 AM and his day is ruined… the other guy, he’s full, energized, and ready for the day…

These things flashed across my mind’s eye… boom… so clear… make better choices, over and over, and you will feel better, doofus…

As always, to be continued…
